"You don't have to be great at start, but you have to start to be great."

The early stages of refining the user flow prioritized streamlining the experience by removing non-essential features and pages to align more closely with the product goals. As we progressed, evolving business decisions from stakeholders necessitated further adjustments to the user journey, prompting a focus in subsequent iterations on reducing the number of clicks required for users to access key features.

User Flow Iteration 1

Final User Flow

Screenshot 2024-05-10 at 5.35.54 PM.png

Initially, I placed the language selection on a separate page. To improve usability and reduce clicks, I moved it directly onto the homepage. This change enhances accessibility by allowing users to choose their preferred language more easily.

Screenshot 2024-05-10 at 5.37.56 PM.png
Screenshot 2024-05-10 at 11.59.22 PM.png

There were 2 actions on the homepage 'Booking a free demo', ' Book a new class, but users didn't find the information sufficient to click on these buttons. Clicking led to a tutor list page, adding an extra step. To  reduce clicks, I decided to display the top three teachers on the homepage and prominently feature homework, materials, curriculum details, and recent class feedback Before fold for paid users to provide comprehensive information at a glance.

The stakeholders made a business decision to simplify the user experience. Initially, users had two options to choose from: One-on-One learning or Group Sessions. This was later streamlined to a single option, allowing users to select individual tutors for personalized one-on-one learning. This adjustment led to further refinements in the user journey to enhance the overall experience.

Visibility: Displays all available options

at once

Direct Accessusers can directly click on the desired option without additional interaction (such as clicking to reveal a dropdown and then selecting an option).

Information Hierarchy: Better structured hierarchy. More information gets absorbed in less time

Clean Design: Pleasing to look at, Cluttered design make it difficult for the user to make a decision

Less is More: Removed multiple CTA s. Better showcasing of data for less

visual overload.

Mid Fi Iteration 1

Reduced Cognitive Load: In cognitive psychology, cognitive load refers to the amount of working memory resources used. By presenting all available options visibly it automatically reduces cognitive load.

Design Consistency: familiar pattern is established that enhances user understanding and predictability.

This other chatbox fit perfectly well in the negative space of L. The three dots inside symbolises responding and also three little tucan birds learning from their teacher tucan bird.

Usability testing is the unsung hero that uncovers genuine user experiences. Validating assumptions is essential. Regular usability testing throughout the product lifecycle allows us to quickly identify issues and observe changes in user behavior over time. It's a win-win.

Both qualitative and quantitative testing were performed post-launch.

Analytical Data

Weekly testing of this data proved to be very useful for supporting decision-making, identifying patterns, trends, and relationships, and evaluating performance or outcomes.

Recordings

Reviewing these recordings biweekly helped in tracking and capturing how users interact with the user interface. The purpose of recording these interactions is to gather insights on user experience, identify areas for improvement, detect any issues or bugs, and ultimately enhance the overall usability and effectiveness of the interface.

Change in the hierarchy
of information

Users didn't click on the subjects or languages offered, leading to confusion. Removing the poorly utilized banner increased white space, resulting in a cleaner and more visually pleasing design.

Re-designed layout

Users found this section lacking in interactivity, which made the experience less enjoyable for them.

Dedicated Page

Users expressed that the amount of information in a small space was overwhelming, making it challenging to make decisions. To facilitate quick and informed decision-making, we dedicated an entire page to the service details section.
